General aspects
The moon jellyfish usually lives in shallow waters, not exceeding 15 metres deep. It is a species which generally lives near coastal areas, in temperate and tropical waters around the world.
The large aggregations of Aurelia labiata are related with excess nutrients of anthropogenic origin.
