General notes

As this species belongs to the same family as small-spotted catsharks and the large-spotted dogfish, its anatomy and colouring pattern are similar. Unlike large-spotted dogfish, it prefers to live in rocky areas covered with algae or kelp forests.

The east Pacific coast, from California to the coasts of Chile

Feeds on

Spiny fish (either living or dead) and possibly crustaceans

Reproduction

Oviparous
